When the brand and the person just fit… and when they don’t
According to the article “Mötly Crüe Front Man Fronts Brand Portfolio” in the November 27, 2006 copy of Brandweek, Vince Neil is at it again, getting his name out in front of the public. But in some ways, who better to be the face and name of a tattoo parlor. Neil is known for being all about “rock n’ roll, tattoos, motorcycles, girls and having fun.” Plus he still has a huge fan base, which basically means guaranteed profits.
Plus let’s be real, Vince Neil Ink on the Vegas strip and his topless dancer show, Vince Neil’s Girls Girls Girls, both fit pretty well with his current meanings and target audience. And they definitely fit much better with the first two options than with Vin Zin, the wine he plans to launch. Personally, I think that unless he makes a great bottle of wine at an affordable price, he doesn’t stand a chance. Plus even if his wine is great, he and the wine may have a lot negative associations and unwanted meanings to contend with.
